relationship therapy

Relationships are complex, and every partnership comes with its own unique challenges. Whether you’re looking to improve communication, navigate life transitions, rebuild trust, or deepen emotional connection, relationship therapy provides a space to explore, understand, and grow together.

Guided Healing Psychology welcomes all types of relationships, such monogamy, ethical non-monogamy, neurodivergent partnerships etc. As an AuDHD psychologist, Joh has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent couples, including those navigating autism, ADHD, and multiplicity or dissociative identities. Relationship therapy is not limited to just two people — when working with couples where one partner has multiplicity, we consider all the relationships present in the room.

our approach

Our approach is collaborative, flexible, and affirming. Instead of applying a one-size-fits-all method, we tailor each session to the people in the room, integrating various therapeutic approaches, such as the Gottman method, to meet your relationship’s specific needs.

One unique aspect of our work is helping folks develop their own “relationship dictionary.” Words and communication styles carry different meanings for different people, and what feels clear to one partner might not be clear to another. Through this process, we work to reduce miscommunication, clarify expectations, and create a shared language that fosters deeper understanding.

We provide a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore challenges without the pressure of having all the answers right away. Whether you need structured guidance or a more reflective process, we adjust the work to suit you.

preparing for your first session

To make the most of your session, you’re invited to:
✔ Reflect on your goals - What would you like to gain from therapy?
✔ Consider any accommodations - If you have sensory or processing needs (e.g., reduced lighting, extra time for auditory processing), let me know so we can tailor sessions for you.
✔ Bring items for comfort - fidgets, weighted blankets, or anything that helps you feel at ease are welcomed.
