Assisting in the establishment of an awareness of your internal world and System, at a pace determined by you.
Development of constructive, healthy communication amongst all consenting parts/alters/Headmates/dissociative identities.
Processing of the underlying traumatic events that led to the development of your multiplicity.
Development of strategies to build capacity, in line with the goals identified within your NDIS Plan.
In line with the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) Guidelines, appointments for clients with dissociative identities are recommended to be 90 minutes as standard practice - you are encouraged to discuss this with Joh.
By developing the skills to communicate more clearly, constructively and effectively with your Parts/Alters/Headmates, you can enjoy more internal harmony and create the life you want and deserve. You can learn a bit more about DID/OSDD here ».
Consent & confidentiality is respected when information between Parts of your System is shared in the therapy space, as required for all psychology sessions, where the standard limits still apply. Learn more here about the limits ».
Although there are no formal guidelines for System-affirming care for those who experience multiplicity or plurality, Joh uses the below principles as part of her understanding of System-affirming care. You are encouraged to talk with Joh about these principles, as a collaborator in your therapeutic experience.
All Parts/Headmates are equal in value and worth.
Dysfunction versus Function.
Trust the wisdom of the System.
Consent and Confidentiality apply to all Parts/Headmates, equally.
